Academic background

Clemente is an Attorney graduated of the Escuela Libre de Derecho in Mexico City, considered the most prestigious law school in Mexico. He has a degree in real estate matters granted by the Institute of Legal Investigations of the Universidad Autonoma de Mexico, a graduate certification in taxes granted by the Institute of Specialization for Executives, S.C., and a specialization and master’s degree in taxation granted by the Universidad Autonoma de Baja California. Lic. Ranero is bilingual.

Professional practice

Within his professional practice, Lic. Ranero has been an advisor to multiple international companies, some of them the leading companies active in the Baja California region.  He has helped such companies to challenge taxes that are unconstitutional or illegal, obtaining the cancellation of tax obligations, and has advised such companies on corporate matters. Part of his professional practice, for a period of 8 years, was in the international firm of Ernst & Young, where he was the lawyer in charge of the tax and corporate practice for part of the northwest of Mexico.

Professional and academic activities

Lic. Ranero is a member of the Mexican Bar Association, the National Association of Corporate Lawyers, and the Tax Commission of the Baja California Accountants Association. He is a former president of the Academy of Fiscal Studies of Baja California, where he continues being active member. Additionally he has been a lecturer in several national and international forums on tax matters and has written diverse articles in magazines specialized in that subject matter. Also, he has been a University professor of foreign trade at the Iberoamericana University, as well as at the Technological University of Tijuana.
